Recent Significant Events:
March Archaeology Fair
ASSF held an Archaeology Fair at the Deering Estate, 16701 SW 72nd Avenue, Miami, on Sunday, March 28, 2004. The event included exhibits, lectures by leading South Florida archaeologists and tours of the Tequesta burial mound and the Deering Estate dig site. A good time was had by all.
Excavations at the One Miami site
ASSF was privileged to be able to provide volunteer help at the One Miami site, DA11, on the 21st and 28th of August, 2004. See Bob Carr's letter attached to the end of our August newsletter for details. Everyone worked very hard and with some success as the photos below attest.
